Apparently, already in childhood, the boy showed excellent abilities for the killer, which earned the attention of the Brotherhood as a whole, and his leader, the elder Al-Mu'alim. ㅤㅤㅤAltair was far from the most complaisant student. Often he was rude and impudent towards his assassin brothers, was quick-tempered, boastful and proud, more than once violated the Way of the Assassin, but all this got away with him — Al-Mu'alim very much appreciated his student, seeing in him a considerable potential. With such a cast of character, it is difficult to have friends, and Altair was no exception. Many respected him and even cringed before him; others did not like and envied. ㅤㅤㅤAl-Mu'alim sends his students, — Altair, Malik, Kadar, — to the Temple of Solomon, where the Templar camp is located. The elder orders the Assassins to steal an important artifact from the fortress without raising alarm, but already during the execution of the task, Altair violates the creed of the Brotherhood, killing the innocent. ㅤㅤㅤFor violation and disobedience, the Order of Assassins executes a student, in public: Altair was completely lowered in rank and the level of trust in him fell. In order to restore his reputation in the eyes of the Brotherhood and gain «peace in himself», he must kill nine important people in three cities: Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem. ㅤㅤㅤAltair has to restart his practice almost «from scratch». All weapons and equipment are taken from the assassin, the best in the Brotherhood, forcing him to get back and deserve it. ㅤㅤㅤHaving reached the last victim on the list of «bad guys», Altaira was waiting for a trap: the Templars sensed danger and prepared for the meeting. As a result of a difficult battle, Altair gets to the victim, but understands that instead of the Templar there was a woman, Maria, also a Templar. She told the deceived assassin that they had been waiting for him for a long time. ㅤㅤㅤIt turns out that Al-Mu'alim betrayed the Brotherhood — he used the ancient artifact, the Apple of Eden, to enslave the people of Masyaf, and Altair killed those who wanted to take possession of the artifact, the competitors of Al-Mu'alim. In a heavy battle, the assassin kills the traitor and wants to destroy the artifact, but then decides to leave it to himself, hoping to find him a good use. |
